Mae Van Ballard

Mae Van Gentry Ballard, 91, of 825 Old Dacusville Road, wife of the late Paul Ballard, died Friday, September 12, 2008, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Samuel P. and Idella Mullinax Gentry, Mrs. Ballard retired from the Elljean Plant of Alice Manufacturing Company and was a very active member of Dacusville United Methodist Church for over fifty years where she taught Sunday School and was president of the U.M.W. for thirty years.
Surviving are three sons, Elliott Ballard and wife, Shirley, Henry A. Ballard and wife, Joan, and Wesley G. Ballard and wife, Kay, all of Dacusville; a brother, Allen Gentry of Charleston; three sisters, Hazel Welborn and Ann Osborne, both of Greenville, and Pat Hart of Dacusville; two grandchildren, Ethan Ballard and wife, Wendy, and Erica B. Richards and husband, Jonathon. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ballard was predeceased by a sister, Ina O'Dell and by a brother, Jim Gentry.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. James McCoy-Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Dacusville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
