Mamie C. Talley

Mamie Couch Talley, 95, wife of the late Joseph “Joe” Dyar Talley, Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. 

Born in Liberty, SC, she was a daughter of the late Loy and Cuzzie Nix Couch. Mamie was the cornerstone of her family, and her unwavering commitment to their well-being exemplified her deep-seated values. Mamie had a servant's heart while encouraging her family to pursue their goals. Mamie’s kitchen was her happy place, where she lovingly prepared meals that brought her family close, filling their lives with joy and togetherness. Faith was woven intricately into the fabric of Mamie's life. A devout member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. She lived her life guided by the principles of faith and dedication to her family. 

She is survived by daughter, Sharon Smith (Mike); son, Wayne Talley (Cindy); six grandsons, Joshua Smith (Moriah) of Summerville, SC, Justin Smith (Amy) of St. Louis, MO, Dr. Kemper Talley (Alice Ann) of Knoxville, TN, Kirk Talley (Kristen) of Liberty, SC, Killian Talley of East Boston, MA and Joseph Smith (Taylor) of Lexington, SC; great-grandchildren, Lilly Kate and Parker Smith, Michael and Avery Smith, Liam Smith, Evelyn Talley and one on the way, and sisters, Bethal Couch, Brenda Baker and Vivian Jones (Thomas). 

In addition to her beloved husband, she is preceded in death by siblings, Adval Bates, Elizabeth “Lib” Couch, JoAnn Davis, Wayne Couch, Sandy Cope and Infant Martha Couch.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1:30 until 2:45 at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
