Margaret Mae Hemminger Brice, 93, of Easley and formerly of McCormick, wife of the late Laurie Simonton Brice, Sr., passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Willington, S.C., Mrs. Brice was a daughter of the late James Morrow Hemminger, Sr. and the late Margaret Josephine LeRoy Hemminger. She graduated from Lander College and taught school. Following her marriage, she became a homemaker. Mrs. Brice was a member of Willington Presbyterian Church. She was also active in the McCormick community and was a member of numerous clubs and organizations.
Surviving are a son, James Douglas Brice, and his wife, Sarah, of Greenville; a daughter, Carolyn Ann Brice, of Easley; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brice was predeceased by a son, Laurie Simonton Brice, Jr.; and a brother, James M. Hemminger, Jr.
The Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Willington Presbyterian Church where the family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will take place in Winnsboro, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willington Presbyterian Church, c/o Mike Dorn, 1299 Simpson St. Ext., Calhoun Falls, SC 29628 or Willington on the Way, 1801 Morrah Bridge Road, McCormick, SC 29835.
Family members are at their respective homes.
