Margaret Gillespie

Margaret "Peg" Gillespie, 95, of Easley, passed peacefully in her home Thursday, April 7, 2016, and was the wife of the late Samuel Gillespie, Jr. for 53 years before his passing.

Born in Boston, MA to the late Lewis W. and Effie Hopkins Blakney.   She was a member of First Baptist Church of Easley for 57 years.

Peg is survived by her daughter, Susan Truitt (Robert) of Scottsdale, AZ; sons, Samuel B. Gillespie and Paul W. Gillespie (Deborah) all of Easley; grandchildren, Tamara Petersen, Katy Gillespie, Scott Truitt and Samuel Britt Gillespie; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 11th at 1:00 PM in Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, with Rev. John Adams officiating.   Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.

Family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made directly to First Baptist Church of Easley, 300 E 1st Avenue, Easley, SC, 29640.
