Margaret Melinda Waters Gravely, 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Chesnee on October 19, 1937, Margaret was a daughter of Boyce Lee Waters and Dorthula Porter Waters. She was a proud 1955 graduate of Easley High School.

Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family meant the world to her. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Pickens. An avid reader, Margaret found great joy in books and could often be found reading on her front porch. Surviving are her children, Deborah Chastain (Andy) and Jerry Gravely; grandchildren, Chris Gravely (Gary), Tanya Gravely Barton (Joshua), Tiffany Chapman, and Jeremy Gravely (Stacey); and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Finley; her son, Rudy Gravely; her brothers, John, Bill, Melvin, and Bunny Waters; and her former husband, Harold Gravely.

Margaret will be remembered for her love of family, her strong faith, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who loved her. Her love and memory will live on through the generations of Family she leaves behind.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Bible Baptist Church, 2522 Gentry Memorial Hwy., Pickens, SC 29671, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
