Mrs. Margaret Childress Nicholson, 86, wife of Rev. William Harold Nicholson, of 258 Oakwood Drive, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Clayton Monroe and Annie Mae Jones Childress, Mrs. Nicholson was a homemaker and a member of Glenwood Wesleyan Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home, are two daughters, Jean Pilgrim (Don) of Six Mile and Judy Nicholson of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Brad Lewis (Andrea),Sean Lewis, Leilani Watts (David), Robbie Hughes (Tara), Chad, Samuel and Benjamin Hughes, and J.R. Pilgrim (Gina); twelve great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Childress and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nicholson was predeceased by a brother, David C. Chidress and four sisters, Marion Smith, Hettie Hindman, Bobbie Gilstrap and Mildred Nations.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at Glenwood Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Escorts of honor will be the ministers and their wives of the South Carolina Wesleyan District of the Wesleyan Church.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at the residence.
