Margaret Treiber Reed, 93, of 407 Mount Forest Circle, died of heart failure at her home on Sunday, January 27, 2008.

Born November 20, 1914, in Hood River, Oregon, Mrs. Reed was a daughter of the late Otis and Olive Robbins Treiber. Having grown up in California, Kansas, New Jersey, and Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Reed graduated from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, with a degree in Medical Technology in 1937. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. Mrs. Reed was an active member of the Nathanael Green Chapter of the DAR in Greenville; she was also active in Greenville's Chapter F of the PEO, as well as past President of Chapter AJ from Tecumseh, Michigan.

Mrs. Reed was an accomplished musician, both pianist and organist, and had served as church choir director while living in Michigan. Mr. and Mrs Reed moved to Easley in 1977. Mrs. Reed was active at Easley Presbyterian Church, serving as Sunday School Teacher for many years and was also a member of the Circle and Women's Association. Mrs. Reed spent her life leading others to Jesus Christ, through both Biblical teaching and through her loving example.

Mrs. Reed was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Surviving are two sons, Clark Treiber Reed of Anderson, S.C. and Craig Andrew Reed of Marshall, Virginia; two daughters, Virginia Reed Goodman of Easley and Rebecca Christine Hill of Stevensville, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Tracey Colling, Seth Reed, Abigail Reed, Emily Reed, Scott Reed, Andrew Hill, and David Hill; five great-grandchildren, Spencer Colling, Dawson Colling, MacKenzie Colling, Regan Colling, and Garrett Colling; and two sisters, Jeannette Kurtz and Fran Pattarini. Mrs. Reed was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Ralph Henry Reed; and three sisters, Georgia Rogers, Marian Treiber, and Dorothy Jo Treiber.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Easley Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the church parlor immediately following the service.

Private committal services will be Tuesday morning at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family is at the home.
