Margit (Margie) F. Boettge, 90, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023.

Born in Czechoslovakia, Margie immigrated with her family as a refugee into the Port of New York in 1959. First settling  in Westchester County, New York, the family relocated to Clemson in 1970.

Margie was a resident of Clemson for 53 years. Starting in the early 1970s, Margie owned and operated a home daycare center until the mid-1990s. Margit had a special love for the many children she cared for.

Margie, along with her late husband, Horst, was a member of the Golden Corner Lakes Power Squadron for 39 years. Margie enjoyed all types of needle work, with a special talent for knitting, cross stitch, and crochet. Her Wednesday manicure appoints were sacred; she was known for her gorgeous, perfect nails. Margie also enjoyed spending her extra time reading romantic novels. Above all her hobbies and activities, Margie loved to spend time with her beloved family.

Margie is survived by her son Ralph Boettge and partner Sundi Bright of Loganville, GA; daughter Jutta Boettge Tolbert of Tallahassee, FL; granddaughter Anneliese Diana Tolbert and partner Jason Dale and Margie’s great-grandchild Noah Dale; grandson Andrew Tolbert and partner Ashleigh Gardner, and grandson Jesse Tolbert.

In addition to Her husband of almost 70 years, Margit was predeceased by her son Juergen Boettge.
