Marian Kathryn Schaeffer Christopherson, 84, of 408 Old Stagecoach Road, died Friday, August 8, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Wishek, North Dakota, Mrs. Christopherson was a daughter of the late Martin J. and Martha Hein Schaeffer. She graduated from Pollock High School in 1942 and South Dakota State University in 1946 where she received a B.S. in Home Economics, and was the Food Manager at the Union Building on campus. In addition, Mrs. Christopherson received a Masters of Education at Mankato State University and a Masters in Astronomy from Clemson University. Mrs. Christopherson was a former teacher in Waterville, Minnesota, and she taught at Easley Junior High School for twenty years.

A member of Easley Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Christopherson was a Past President of her circle in the Women of the Church. She was also a Senior High Youth Group Leader at one time.

Mrs. Christopherson was an organizer of the Blue Chip Ladies Investment Club, was a member of the Better Homes Club, and the Professional Women's Club. Mrs. Christopherson was a former "First Lady" of Easley.

Surviving are her husband, M.E. "Chris" Christopherson, of the home; three daughters, Mary Pamela Brady and her husband, Edward, of Glen Rock, New Jersey, Paige C. Anderson and her husband, Dave, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Janet Kay Christopherson and her husband, Howard Taylor, of Casco, Maine; one brother, Marvin J. Schaeffer of Madison, Wisconsin; and six grandchildren, Sean Brady, Quinn Brady, Kristen Brady, Katie Hodges, Braden Hodges, and Naziier Brady. Mrs. Christopherson was predeceased by a sister, Verna Lensink.

Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Easley Presbyterian Church. The family will host a reception in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
