Marian Cook Guill

Marian Cook Guill, 89, of Seneca, South Carolina, formerly of North Augusta, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026.

Born on June 6, 1936, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Eliza and Conway Cook, Marian lived most of her life in North Augusta, where she built a warm and welcoming home centered on family, faith, and community. A devoted and dedicated Christian, she lived a life that reflected her deep love for the Lord and for those around her. Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, James Carson Guill; her sisters, Libby Pitts (the late Alan Pitts), and Kathryn Crotts; and her parents.

She is survived by her brother, Fred Cook (Diane); her brother-in-law Stephen Crotts: her children, Kathryn Guill Freeman (Michael) and Russell Carson Guill (Melanie); her grandchildren, David Freeman (Amber), Brian Freeman (Katherine), Kalyn Jones (Brad), and Carson Guill (Larsen); nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were truly the light of her life.

Marian had a generous spirit and a thoughtful way of living that made everyone she encountered feel seen and valued. She found joy in life's simple moments, whether sharing a laugh, offering a kind word, gathering loved ones around her table, or tending to her home with care. Marian especially enjoyed cleaning and cooking, finding joy in a spotless house and preparing delicious meals that brought family together. She also cherished trips to the South Carolina Low Country and beaches, where she delighted in the sight of marshes and the sound of the waves, creating cherished memories with those she loved most.

Marian’s wisdom, gentle humor, and steady presence were treasured gifts to all who knew her. Her impact will continue to be felt through the lives she touched so deeply. She is survived by family members and loved ones who will cherish her memory and carry her influence forward with gratitude and love.

A graveside service will be held at Pineview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in North Augusta at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026. A time of visitation will follow at 12:00 noon at The Depot located at First Presbyterian Church of Augusta.
