Marie Durham Childress, 80, of 116 Long Creek Drive and wife of the late Frank Childress, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010.
Mrs. Childress was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Cain and May Durham. She was a former employee of the Singer Company and was a member of West End Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon's Wife.
Surviving are her children, Bobby, Frank Jr., Ricky and Linda ; brothers and sisters, Mildred Dover, J.T. Durham ( her twin brother), Laurue Ivester and Gladys Williams ; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde Durham, Billy Joe Durham, Richard Durham and sisters, Wilmae Whitaker and Pauline Green.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday at West End Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Connelly officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown.
