Marie Claire Iskandar, 80, of Greenville, South Carolina, loving wife of Gamil F. Iskandar, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Born in Portsaid, Egypt, on March 7, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Paulette Abdelnour Ansara. Marie Claire touched the hearts of everyone she encountered throughout her memorable life. Having retired from her role as a Sales Representative at Michelin, Marie Claire dedicated herself to nurturing connections with those around her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who fiercely loved her family, always placing them above all else. Her presence provided warmth and comfort; she could often be found making a meal, sharing a laugh, or offering a heartfelt hug, forever embodying the essence of family. Her commitment extended beyond her immediate family. As a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Greenville, South Carolina, she engaged with her community and strengthened her faith, contributing her spirit and generosity to those in need. Marie Claire was also known for her culinary talents, making the best baklava that was enjoyed by many and will be fondly remembered. Her passion for cooking was a testament to her love for bringing people together around the table, creating memories that will linger long after her departure.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, Marie Claire is survived by her two sons, Dr. Samy R. Iskandar (Rebecca) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Tony M. Iskandar of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Magda Hallal; and four grandchildren, Sophia, Sara Caroline, Brady, and Jake.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Sawi E. Ansara; and a sister, Nadia Ansara.
