Bessie Marie Whitlock Gillespie, widow of Aaron Thomas "Tom" Gillespie, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Hart County Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Luther and Tallie Gillespie Whitlock. She was a member of Bishop Branch Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Myrtis Posey of Pendleton; three sons, Wayne Gillespie of Liberty, Dennis and Charles Gillespie, both of Anderson; brother, Harold Whitlock of Easley; three sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Sarah Perry both of Liberty, Evelyn McAlister of Pendleton; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 pm at Bishop Branch Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church's cemetery. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8pm and will be placed in the church on Wednesday at 1pm.
Memorials may be made to Bishop Branch Baptist Church, 1109 Central Road, Central, SC 29630.
