Mariegold L. Tucker

Apr 2, 1933 — Aug 25, 2026

Easley, South Carolina

Mariegold L. Tucker, 93, beloved wife of Gilroy Churchill Tucker, of Easley, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

She was born on April 2, 1933, in Belize City, Belize, Central America, to the late William Geban and Ivy Domingo. Mariegold was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a committed Christian who faithfully attended Rock Springs Baptist Church. Mariegold was passionate about sharing the Gospel in word and in action to those who needed Christ (for example, handing out Gospel tracts and sharing devotionals with people at her community center).

In her professional life, Mariegold began her career as a teacher before pursuing her calling as a Registered Nurse. She was a midwife and delivered many babies, worked in the Pediatric, Obstetric, Medical, Surgical, and Psychiatric wards. She enjoyed serving and caring for others.

In her personal life, Mariegold was known for her compassionate heart and generous spirit. She found ways to lovingly care for those in need through acts of kindness and she regularly shared culinary, handmade, or purchased gifts with friends, family, medical staff.…. Many of us have received those gifts! That was Mariegold’s way of spreading sunshine as she moved through life. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, needlework, and crafts and, above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. Many of us have enjoyed playing board games with her on holidays and after Sunday dinner, being thoroughly beaten many times.

She will be lovingly remembered for her faith, kindness, caring spirit, and the love she shared with everyone around her. And what about those HATS!

Mariegold is survived by her husband, Gilroy of 62 years; her two daughters, Sherie-Ann Roberts (Wayne) of Easley, SC and Mariegold Elizabeth Rodriguez of New York City, NY; her siblings, Helen Fowler of Palm Coast, Florida; Geraldine Geban-Locke of Brooklyn, NY, Louis Geban of Los Angeles, CA and Dorothy Geban of Queens, NY; her granddaughters, Lauren Andrews, Marissa Threet, Deanna Whyte and Vanessa Whyte; her grandsons, Safi Aiken and Stephen Roberts; her great-granddaughter, Nora Andrews; her great-grandsons, Levi Glasgow, Nolan Andrews, Andrè Orion Aiken and Adonis Aiken; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lindsey Miguel and Reginald Middleton and sisters, Joyce Myvett and Rita Gentle.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Rd, Easley, SC 29642.
