Marjorie Guyer Barnes, 84, Pebble Brook Drive, wife of the late A.D. Barnes, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at her home.
Born in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of the late Edward S. and Prudence Guyner, Mrs. Barnes was a graduate of Painesville (Ohio) High School and attended Lake Erie College in Painesville and also the University of Florida. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Barnes loved learning, friends and family, her home, and especially the Jacksonville beaches where she lived the majority of her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Pope and husband, C.H., of New Bern, NC and Mary Akerstrom and husband, Kurt, of Bosque, NM; and a granddaughter, Megan Akerstrom of Murfreesboro, TN.
The family would like to thank Jim DeWitt of Caregivers of the Carolinas and Hospice Care of SC for the exceptionalervice to Mrs. Barnes and her family.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
