Marjorie L Pettit

Marjorie L. Pettit, 90 Of Liberty, SC went to be with the Lord on Thursday October 20, 2022. She was surrounded by the love of her family, not the least of these her husband of 67 years, Mr. Coke Pettit. Together Coke and Marjorie built a beautiful life. They had three daughters that they enjoyed surrounding with their love of music and the outdoors. 

Marjorie was known for her love of singing. She was the choir director for the youth choir at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Liberty, SC for quite some time. Her daughters remember her singing them gospel songs fondly. Marjorie also will be remembered for her love of golf. Her and Coke owned a driving range in Liberty and it is said that she may have even been a bit better at the game than her playing partner was. 

Marjorie loved to crochet. Her favorite thing to crochet was baby blankets for her grandchildren. Those grandchildren are what Marjorie will be missing the most as she waits patiently on them in heaven. She is survived by not only those many grandchildren but also her husband, William Coke Pettit of Liberty, SC. Her daughters, Resa P. Bracken (Barry) of Easley, SC, Janette P. Chapman, of Liberty, SC, and Sarah P. Reeves (Rick), of Easley, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kevin McAlister, Miles Spears, and Kyle Chapman. She also leaves behind nine Great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. 

In addition to her parents, Leon and Bessie Mae Childress Landreth, Mrs. Marjorie is predeceased by her brother Trabert Landreth, her grandson John David Chapman, and her great-granddaughter Miley Gabrielle Spears. 

The family will be gathering for a visitation on Monday October 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Liberty, SC with funeral services to immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
