Marlene Serafina Gangemi

 

Marlene Serafina Gangemi, 90, of Clemson, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on February 8, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laverne Wagener Gangemi. She retired from M & T Bank, after forty years of service. Marlene attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Wilmington, DE. She loved shopping, antiquing, decorating, cooking for her family, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph David Gangemi (Nancy); nieces, Stephanie Gangemi Woods (John), Alyssa Gangemi (David Suriano), Jennifer Gangemi Nicholson (Howard Hall), Christina Gangemi Nottingham, and Beth Piering-Budlong; nephews, Joe Gangemi (Stacey), Mike Piering (Ann West), Dan Piering (Dossie), and Joe Lemere (Jamie); nine great nephews and six great nieces.

Marlene was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Lamere and a brother, Carl Gangemi.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 209 Sloan Street, Clemson.

Burial will be held in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, DE at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
