Martha Sue Newton Lesley, 83, widow of Jerry B. Lesley passed away following a lengthy illness at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC.
Born in Pickens County and raised in Clemson, Martha Sue was a daughter of the late Frank and Julia Cornelia Greene Newton. She was a graduate of Central High School and was a homemaker and gardener and she loved all God's creatures.
Surviving are her son, J. Bennett Lesley and wife Maureen of Central; daughters, Dena Elizabeth Myers and husband, Stephen of Columbus, OH and Martha Gayle Lee and husband, Jeff of Easley; brother, Alfred Newton of Easley; sisters, Lucille Stuckey of Central and Evelyn Smith of Lancaster, SC; grandchildren, Lesley Bolds and husband, Ivan, Anna Castle and husband, Greg, Elizabeth Black and husband, Jordan, Christopher Lee and wife, Tish, Kathryn Ufferman and husband, Todd, Ryan Lee and wife, Annie, Julia Lesley, Brooklyn Lesley and John Lesley; and six great grandsons.
In addition to her husband and parents, Martha Sue was predeceased by a brother, Earl Newton.
Graveside services will be 4 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service from 5 to 6:30 PM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC
