Martha McKee Long, 92, of the Powdersville Community, passed away peacefully May 25, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Mable Brooks McKee. She worked for many years as a seamstress with Stone Manufacturing, Sangamo, retiring from Southern Weaving and was of the Christian Faith.
For the past three years she resided at Oakview Park Assisted Living in Powdersville where she made many lasting friendships with both residents and staff. She loved to work jigsaw puzzles and spent countless hours doing word search. She was a brutally honest lady that everyone loved and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her five children, Dennis Long (Linda) of Taylors; Dianne Barfield (Larry), of Piedmont; Dale Merritt (Wendell), of Easley; Karen Ridenour (Richard), of Powdersville; and Ray Long (Cheryl), of Gray Court; three brothers, Winslow McKee, of Anderson; Roy McKee, of Mauldin and Randell McKee, of Easley; her sister, Barbara Oates, of Easley; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her husband, William Edward Long; her brothers, Joe McKee and Reverend W. A. (Bill) McKee; her sisters, Essie Phillips and Frances Sargent; and her grandchildren, Missy Barfield and Rodney Camp.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Burial will follow in Graceland West Cemetery.
Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the funeral home.
