Martha Gaston Lovinggood, 96 of 304 Buchanan Circle and widow of Benman Luma Lovinggood, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Lila Doyle Nursing Care Facility in Seneca.
Born in Toccoa, GA, a daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Anna Belle Mills Gaston, she was a retired clerk with Belk and was the oldest member of First Baptist Church, Pendleton. She touched many family's lives as she operated a day care from her house for many years where she was known as "Mamma Good".
Surviving are one son, Ben G. Lovinggood and wife, Janice of Oakway; two daughters, Polly Smith and husband, Leon of Seneca and Peggy Genzer of Pendleton; four grandchildren, Julie Cunard, Joy Kooyer, Ben Lovinggood, Jr. and Terry Genzer; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Walter Gaston.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
The family will be at their respective homes.
