Martha Lynn Robinson

June 27, 1956 — December 13, 2015

Martha Lynn Jones Robinson, 59, passed away at home on December 13, 2015 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Daughter of Joe Kenneth and the late Laura Martin Jones, she was born in Greenville, SC.  After graduating from D.W. Daniel High School, she earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of South Carolina in Piano Pedagogy and later graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, but her blood always ran orange.   Martha Lynn was a Project Director with Fluor for 26 years working with projects in the US and Iraq.  She was an active member of Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church where she enjoyed playing piano and singing in the choir.  Her favorite buddies were the feline sort of which she had rescued and cared for numerous in her many years. Her favorite place to be was in a beach chair, especially near the pluff mud of Pawleys Island, SC each summer with family and friends.   Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Chandler C. Robinson of the home; her father, Joe K. Jones of Clemson, SC; brothers Joe Kenneth “Ken” (June) Jones Jr. of Pendleton, SC, and Jim (Debbi) Jones of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own Jennifer Jones (Bert) Medlock, Mallie and Joe Joe, Laura Jones, Cassie Jones, Jake (Rachel) Jones, and Joe F. (Audrey) Jones, Abi and Maddi.   A service honoring Martha Lynn will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11:00am at Clemson United Methodist Church at 300 Frontage Road Clemson, SC with a reception afterward.  The family will have a private graveside service.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church in 2101 Six Mile Highway Central, SC 29630.   Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
