Martha Seawright

Martha “Top” SeawrightPendleton, SCMartha “Top” Seawright, 92, longtime resident of Pendleton, SC died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Pendleton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Decie Newton Seawright.  “Top” was a graduate of Winthrop University and earned her Masters Degree from University of Tennessee.  She served as the State Department of Education District Consultant for Consumer and Homemaking Education.  She was a 60 year member of the Chester and Seneca Pilot Clubs International and served as Governor of the SC District.  She was a coordinator for Meals on Wheels and served on the Anderson County Board of Directors.  She was an Elder and Lifetime member of Pendleton Presbyterian Church.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Nell Reeves and Lucy Orr.She is survived by a flock of loving nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday at Pendleton Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pendleton Presbyterian Church or to the charity of one’s choice.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at the funeral home.
