Martha S. Smith, 82, of Central went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5th at her home. She was born in Greer, SC on November 13, 1925. She and R.B., now deceased, owned Smith's Department Store for 34 years. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her sons and their wives Don and Marilyn Smith, of Anderson, SC, Steve and Caroline Smith of Kennesaw, GA., and Scott and Karen Smith, of Central, SC; brother Bill Stevenson, of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Brian and wife Maggie, Stephanie, Bruce and wife Jennifer, Ashley and husband Joey Ray; great-grandchildren Katie Ray, Kaleigh Smith, and Laney Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband R.B. Smith; brother Troy Stevenson, parents Slim and Lois Stevenson; and grandson Steven Smith.
There will be a visitation held on Friday, December 7, from 10:00-11:00AM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Funeral services are to follow immediately after at Mt Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Oconee Memorial Park following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church P.O. Box 186, Central, SC 29630 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
The family will be at the home of Scott and Karen Smith, 1338 18 Mile Road, where they will welcome visitors.
