Martha Irvin Smith-Adams, 85, of Easley, South Carolina, wife of the late Charles M. Adams, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
Born on August 14, 1939, in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Kathleen Irvin. She was the owner and operator of Adams Attic Antiques located on Main Street in Easley, South Carolina, and was an interior decorator. She graduated from Carolina High School, she then attended Carson Newman College and graduated from Savannah School of Interior Decorating and Design. Martha attended Pathway Church, where her son-in-law, Rev. Mark McGuire, is the pastor. Previously, she attended Dunean Baptist Church, where she was the nursery coordinator and assistant to the kindergarten director for several years. She loved the Lord with all her heart and never lost sight of her gratitude to God for all the things He did for her and her family. Her favorite verse from the Bible was Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths”.
Martha is survived by a daughter, LuAnne McGuire and husband Rev. Mark McGuire of Easley, South Carolina; a son, Mark Smith and wife Crystal Smith of Campobello, South Carolina; her three precious grandchildren, James Howard McGuire (MaryBeth), Caleb McGuire, and Katie Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members who she loved so much.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Irvin, Sr., and a sister, Helen Irvin.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, officiated by Rev. Mark McGuire.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
The committal service will be private, and Martha will be laid to rest beside her husband in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pathway Church, c/o 1198 Zion School Road, Easley, South Carolina 29642.
The family is at their respective homes.
