Marvin Edward "Ed" Evatt, 85, born April 20, 1936, formerly of Central, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Ed was born in Pickens County, a son of the late John Gaines and Beulah Lee Lesley Evatt. He was a member of the first graduating class of D.W. Daniel High School in 1956 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Central. He was a retired supervisor at TRW in Clemson. Ed loved his Atlanta Braves, Clemson Tigers and Daniel High School Lions. He also loved music and was known for his search for the perfect sound.
Surviving are his daughter, Melanie Branham and husband, Gregg, of Easley; son, Marvin E. Evatt, Jr. and wife, Lori, of Greenville; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Lydia Branham.
In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Marian Evans Evatt; brothers, John William "Wid" Evatt; James Gaines "Jim" Evatt, Sr.; Calvin Lawrence "Doc" Evatt; and his sister, Betty Jean Evatt Pilgrim.
Funeral services will be 4 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021, in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central with burial to follow in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Scroll to the video player below to view the service.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:50 PM, Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
