Mary Miles Allen, 89, longtime resident of Pendleton and widow of James L. Allen, Jr., died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Sterling House in Central.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Rupert E. and Wallie Wright Miles. Along with her husband, she was the owner and operator of Mile & Crenshaw Cafe in Pendleton for many years and was a member of Pendleton United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, S. Lamar Allen and wife, Judy of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Justin Allen and wife, Jennifer of Carrolton, GA and Lauren Allen of Denver, CO; and one great-grandchild, Carter Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Sunday at Pendleton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM, Sunday prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pendleton UMC P.O. Box 646, Pendleton, SC 29670 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
