Mary Beth Youngblood Ellison, 70, beloved wife of Steven Howard Ellison, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 16, 2023.
Born in Pickens, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Carl Youngblood and Mary Jane Simmons Youngblood.
Mary Beth was a 1970 graduate of Pickens High School, earning her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Music from Southern Wesleyan University, her Elementary Supervision Degree from Furman University, and her ABD Degree in Special Education. She retired from The Pickens County School District after 34 years of dedicated service to several schools in the district. Following retirement, she was employed with The Greenville County School District, also serving several schools in the district. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Easley, where she was on the Board of Trustees and served on several other committees in the church. She also was the treasurer for the Anderson County Methodist District, a member of the United Women in Faith, and a certified Lay Speaker for the Methodist church.
Mary Beth enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching and was an avid reader.
Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Steven; a special “granddaughter”, Kristin Kwasniewski; a sister, Martha Youngblood Smith (Richard) of Lincolnton, NC; and a sister-in-law, Sherrie Youngblood of Central.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Calvin Fortune, and a brother, John Youngblood.
The family will meet with friends and family on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2023, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The family will be at the home.
