Mary Whitlock McGee Chambers, 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Seneca Health and Rehab.
Mrs. Chambers was born in Pickens County and was a daughter of the late William H. and Flora L. Aiken Whitlock. She was a kindergarten teacher in Charlotte for many years and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth McGee Evatt and her husband, Dink, and Jane McGee Smith and her husband, Gary all of Seneca; son in law, Thomas Brock of Pendleton; one brother, Bob Whitlock of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Ellaree Elrod of WV, and Jean Campbell of VA; five grandchildren, Mike Evatt, Anita Dost, Patrick Brock, Sean Smith, and Tommy Brock; fifteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah N. McGee and her second husband, Fred R. Chambers; one daughter, Patricia McGee Brock; two brothers, Troy and Kenneth Whitlock; two sisters, Sue Stines and Elizabeth Lindsay.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Faith Fellowship Church in Pendleton with burial to follow in Pendleton Old Second Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service.
