Mary L. Cocke

Mary Lynn Donnally Cocke of 602 Downs Loop, wife of Joseph B. Cocke, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Clemson Downs Heath Center after a period of declining health.
Born August 29, 1923 in High Springs, FL, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Lynn and Eva Lewis Donnally. She attended the High Springs public schools and was a graduate of the University of Florida. She also attended Maryville College and Florida State University. She was a retired employee of the Plant Pathology Department at Clemson University.
She was a long time member of Clemson United Methodist Church having served on various committees. She was an active member of United Methodist Women until her health prevented her participation. She was a former member of the Clemson Lions Club and was a Melvin Jones Fellow. She served in the Navy WAVES during WWII. Her hobbies were genealogy, making blankets for children's homes and making Raggedy Ann dolls.
In addition to her husband of over 65 years, she is survived by two daughters, Linda of the home, and Suzanne Ramage (Gus) of Greenwood, SC; grandchildren, Gus Ramage IV (Amanda) of Charleston, SC, Sarah Clarson (Jeremiah) of Chesapeake, VA and Joseph Ramage (Tricia) of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Augie and Ava Ramage of Charleston; sisters, Betty Downing of High Springs, FL and Nancy Tew of Raleigh, NC; and numerous neices and nephews.
In addiiton to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Hugh Edgar Donnally.
Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Monday, March 11 at Clemson United Methodist Church with a reception following the service at the church.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
