Mary Evelyn White Cureton, 93, of Clemson, South Carolina, passed away on May 30, 2025.

Born in Seneca, SC, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Mary Morris White. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Charles Cureton, and her daughter, Lee Cureton Wylie.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Steven R. Cureton (Kathy), and daughter, Christie Ackerman (Carl). She was a cherished grandmother to Justin Wylie, Matthew Wylie, AC Wylie, Frances Wylie Decker, and April Ackerman Vernau, and a loving great-grandmother to Jade Wylie, Dimitri Wylie, Brogan Wylie, Michael Decker, and Alison Decker.

She was a devoted member of Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson.

Evelyn found great joy in family gatherings, reading, bowling, exercising, and even belly dancing. A passionate advocate for health and wellness, she served as a fitness instructor with the YMCA in Clemson for over 35 years, inspiring many with her energy, dedication, and commitment to physical fitness.

She was a woman of quiet strength and profound kindness, who lived with simplicity, never judged others, and offered unconditional love to everyone she met. As a mother, her love knew no bounds—steady, accepting, and unwavering.

Funeral services will be announced when finalized by the family.
