Mary Elizabeth Hendricks

January 11, 1929 — January 18, 2024

Easley, SC

Mary Elizabeth Hendricks, beloved mother, sister, and wife, passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 95. Mary was born on January 11, 1929, in Young Harris, GA, to the late William and Agnes Swanson.

One of Mary's greatest joys in life was attending Roanoke Baptist Church. She was a faithful member for many years and found solace and comfort in her faith. Mary took great pride in being part of a community that shared her values and beliefs.

In addition to her religious devotion, Mary had a passion for homemaking. She took great pleasure in keeping her house clean and tidy, ensuring that it was always a welcoming space for friends and family. Gardening was another hobby that brought Mary immense joy. She had a green thumb and delighted in tending to her beautiful flowers and plants.

Mary's proudest accomplishments centered around her family. She cherished the role of being a dedicated wife to her beloved husband William Leroy Hendricks. Their love stood the test of time and served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

Mary is survived by Son, William Larry Hendricks; Daughter, Wanda Hendricks (Kevin); Sisters, Reva Reeves, Aline Duncan, and Norma Jean McCall; 6 Grand Children, 12 Great Grand Children, and 5 Great-Great Grand Children.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband William Leroy Hendricks as well as her brothers, Herschal Swanson, Oliver Swanson, Harold Swanson, Luther Swanson; sisters Jessie Lee Sentell, and sister Clara Kelley. While we mourn the loss of Mary, we find solace in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones.

The family would also like to thank Betty Lance who was Mary’s beloved caretaker, as well as Crescent Hospice for the professional level of care they provided.
