Mary-Ellen Buzzard Lefort, 94, widow of Henry G. Lefort passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca surrounded by her loving family.

Mary-Ellen was born in Washington, D.C. a daughter of the late Robert Paul and Ellen Morgan Buzzard. She grew up in the Kensington, MD area and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.  She was a 1951 graduate of Michigan State where she earned a B.S. degree in Medical Technology. She spent over a decade in the medical field before becoming a homemaker, wife and mother.  She was a long time active member of Clemson United Methodist Church where she served in various positions of leadership.  She was a Yoga instructor and volunteered with many organizations in the greater Clemson area including Clemson Community Care.

She is survived by three children, Henry Gerard Lefort IV and his wife, Patricia of Central, Robbie Lefort and his wife, Patricia of Anderson, Jenny Thurman and her husband, Mark of Cookeville, TN; a sister, Nancy Stubbs of Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, Aasta Thurman, Ruby Thurman, Ali Rogers and her husband, Joe, Nikki Steelman and her husband, Matt, Cody Lefort and Angela Holden and her husband, Robert; and great grandchildren, Hampton, Ellison and Colby Steelman.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary-Ellen was predeceased by her twin sister, Cora Bush.

There are no services scheduled at this time.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clemson United Methodist Church or a charity of one's choice.
