Mary Jones Folger, wife of the late Ernest Folger, Jr., passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012. She was ninety-five years old.
Her life was devoted to friends and family. She was a devoted wife, daughter, and mother.
An avid reader and English major, Mary Folger graduated from Coker College in June of 1938 and married the same month. Her sense of humor, probably whetted by her interest in English literature, carried her far with friends and in all areas of life.
An accomplished cook, she prepared wonderful meals for family and friends. She and her husband led others to enjoy the beauty of the mountains in their mountain home, in Highlands, NC.
She was intuned to the needs of children and was involved in children??s choir activities at Fourth Presbyterian and pre-school art at Christ Church School. Her love for flowers and landscaping was evident in her home and yard. She studied wild flowers in their natural habitat in the mountains. Her love for music was strong, and she was a talented pianist.
Mary Jones Folger was pre-deceased by her husband Ernest; by her parents, Herbert Eugene Jones and May Willis Jones; and by her brother, Herbert E. Jones.
