Mary S. Gipson

Mary Summey Gipson, 85, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. She was a native of Central and was the daughter of the late Glen G. and Lena Stewart Sanders. She was active in her church and was a S. S. teacher in the Cannon Memorial Baptist Church of Central and later at the Park Street Baptist Church in Easley. She was the Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star in Central. She was predeceased by two husbands: William 'Red' Summey and Cleo Gipson.

She is survived by a daughter, Cathe 'Sunny' Boyd and companion, Mr. Lein Poole, of Piedmont and a step-daughter, Sarah Whitson of Campobello, SC; brother, Johnny Sanders and wife Betty of Central; sister, Tracey Sanders of Anderson, special granddaughter, Lindy Pfoutz and special niece, Tammy Sanders and 5 great-grandchildren, Lee, Leanne, Leshay, Luke and Levi. She was predeceased by brothers, Grady, Paul, James 'Fub' and Ray Sanders.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00am at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30am on Saturday prior to the service.
