Mary Louis Glasgow Hobbs, a beloved homemaker, has passed away at the age of 78. She was born on September 13, 1944, in Hartselle, Alabama, Mary was the daughter of the late Otto Glasgow and the late Eudelle Landers Glasgow. Also preceding her in death are her brothers, William and Fredie Glasgow; also a sister, Judy Spain.
Mary's unwavering faith and love for her family defined her life. Described as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary dedicated herself to creating a warm and nurturing home for her loved ones. Her devotion to them was unparalleled, and she cherished every moment spent in their company.
Mary's husband of 58 years, Tommy Hobbs, stood beside her throughout their journey together, providing love and support that spanned a lifetime. Also left to cherish Mary’s many memories are her son, Todd Hobbs; her grandchildren, Julia Escobar, Kenia Escobar, Brandy Escobar, Sophia Montero, Keyri Escobar, Ana Escobar, Balid Escobar-Cruz, Cookie Escobar, Noe Escobar, Julian Escobar, Julie Escobar, Joanna Escobar, Romeo Escobar, Lexie Escobar, Homer Cruz, David Methrin, Jr, and Bianey Escobar. Also 13 Great Grandchildren are left to carry on her legacy.
Mary's role as a homemaker extended beyond the walls of her own house; she was an active member of her community as well. Among her proudest accomplishments was playing the piano and organ at Welcome Baptist Church in Greenville for several years. Her musical talent brought joy to all who had the privilege of hearing her play. Music held a special place in Mary's heart, and playing the piano and organ were among her favorite hobbies. The melodic tunes that flowed from her fingertips were a source of inspiration for those around her. Mary's love for music not only enriched her own life but also touched the lives of others.
Mary's devout faith in the Lord was evident to all who knew her. She found solace in worship and remained dedicated to serving her church community. She was a member of Trinity Point Church. Her unwavering commitment to her religious beliefs guided every aspect of her life.
In addition to being survived by numerous extended family members and friends whose lives she touched deeply, Mary leaves behind a legacy built upon love and compassion. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we mourn the loss of Mary Louis Glasgow Hobbs, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. The memorial service to celebrate the life of Mary will begin at 2:00PM following the visitation, the service will be held in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road with Pastor Brian Parker officiating..
Although Mary has left this world, her legacy will continue to resonate in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May her soul find eternal peace as she reunites with loved ones who have gone before her.
