Mary Magdelene Stowers Kirksey
Easley

The sun rose on the life of our family's Matriarch on October 28, 1933 in Anderson County to the late Roosevelt and Fannie Mae Stowers. On Wednesday morning, April 26, 2017 the Sun set on our queen's life at her home in Easley, SC. fulfilling her desire of entering heaven and seeing her sisters, grandsons and parents again.

On May 11, 1952 she married the love of her life, William Allen Kirksey. Through this union they had a daughter, Zorie Lee Kirksey.

Mary is predeceased by her and son, Master Ira Kinte Kirksey and great grandson Master Alvarez Omyshion Brown. Also predeceasing Mary are her brothers Robert Lee and Willie Dean "Grady" Stowers; Sisters; Betty Rose Stowers Epps, Mamie Jane Stowers and Roberta Stowers McKoy; also brothers-in-law, Willie Elford Gamble and James "Willie" McKoy.

In 1996 Mary retired from Mayfair Mills Glenwood Divison After being a dedicated employee for 20 years. 1976 she started as a Battery filler, and later progressed to being a professional cloth inspector for the facility. With a solid work ethic she earned, love and highest regard from her peers, supervisors and corporate officers alike.
After retiring she dedicated her love and attention to her husband, grandchildren and extended family. Her church, cooking , reading and flower gardening was just a few of her many passions.

Mary created the most beautiful flower gardens. She was quite the horticulturalist and had an eye for floral arrangements and design. Also being a phenomenal chef in her own right, everyone entering her home went straight to the kitchen to sample her creations. Feeding all who entered was her own brand of love language. Mary also was an avid reader. Especially all things biblical. On her own she became a student of GOD's word and later became very astute and a wealth of Biblical knowledge.

Around 1984, Mary joined Emanuel Pentecostal Church of First Resurrection as one of the founding members. She loved her church and also served as the church mother and also the State Mother of the church body. In addition to her husband William and daughter Zorie she leaves to cherish fond memories of love, her grand children Andrea V. Kirksey, Brandon E.(Eunice) Kirksey, Rico J (Jessie) Dukes all of Easley. She also leaves seven Great-grandchildren, Chanti (Torre) Dodd, Danielle Hatton, Zyana Woodruff, Catherine Parker, Alex Kirksey, Elias Dukes and Ian Dukes; Four Great-great grandchildren, Isaiah , Keenan, Serenity and Jayden. She has one surviving brother Calvin Stowers from Charlotte, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Her legacy of love is left here for all of us to continue on and foster for generations to come.
