Mary Evelyn Looper McAlister, 75, of 217 Hot Rod Hill, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Jim Garrett and Eunice McDonald Looper, Mrs. McAlister was formerly employed with Swirl, Inc., and was the secretary for C and R Machine Shop. She attended Marathon Community Church.
Surviving are her husband, Claude McAlister of the home; a son, Robert McAlister (Tonya) of Easley; two daughters, Glenda Ballentine (Jim) of Easley and Linda Byce (David) of Anderson; two brothers, Jim Ed Looper of Easley and Donald Looper of Pickens; three sisters, Gladys Foster of Liberty, Agnes Kay of Lavonia, GA, and Vera Brown of Jenkinsville; and three grandchildren, Katelyn and Kendra McAlister and Trammell Byce.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Marathon Community Church.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marathon Community Church, 315 Roe Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
The family is at the residence.
