Mary Evelyn Wagner McGee

Mary Evelyn Wagner McGee, 97, wife of the late William Arthur McGee, of Pickens, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023.

Born in Brinkley, AR, she was a daughter of the late Frank Wagner and Pearlie Mae Hatch Wagner Rogers.

Mrs. McGee loved to paint and would send over 70 handmade cards a month to missionaries, shut-ins and friends. She retired from General Motors after more than 44 years.

Mrs. McGee is survived by daughters, Linda Susan Porter (Charles) of Omaha, NE and Jane Laurette Pardee (Derick) of Pickens; grandchildren, Pamela Clampet (Colin), Patricia Porter, Steven Porter, Rosemary Heather O'Gorman (Oriel) of Ireland, Sarah Pardee, Elizabeth Doyle (William) of Ireland, Rebekah Smith (James), Pastor Rick Pardee, Jr. (SarahBeth), Ruthanna Joy Pardee, and Shelley Pardee; and great-grandchildren, TJ, Ruth, Abigail, Sarah, Seán, Anastacia Rose, Saoirse, Elias, Hadassah, Liam, Svea, Anna, Corrie, Judah, PriscillaJoy, LenoraJoy, and AnnaJoy.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Kontnik; and step-brothers, Edward, Frank, Paul, George, and Larry Wagner.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023 at Agnew Road Baptist Church in Greenville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023 at the church.
