Mrs. Mary Ellen Hammond Rackley, 77, wife of the late Walter Donnie Rackley, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019, after a long courageous fight against Parkinson's and dementia.

Born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Allie Hammond and the late Flossie Hiott Hammond, Mrs. Rackley was a homemaker, caregiver and nanny. She was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Rackley was known by many names: Ellen, Mom, Mommy Ellen, Nana, Mimi, and Mary. All who knew her were touched by her kindness and sweet disposition.

Surviving are a son, Rick Rackley of Greenville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Rackley Plisko and David Plisko of Alpharetta, GA; two sisters, Lucille H. Eller of Williamston and Catherine Griffis of Piedmont; and three grandchildren, Tyler Rackley of Myrtle Beach, Matthew Plisko and Gabriella Plisko, both of Alpharetta, GA; and her caregiver, Carla Styles of Greer. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rackley was predeceased by two brothers, Monroe and Ray Hammond.

Funeral services will be Noon Thursday, November 7, 2019 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
