Mary Alice Reifsteck Rawson, 93, entered into heaven on Dec 20, 2017.
She was born in Champaign Illinois on April 25, 1924. She was preceded in death by her father William L. Reifsteck, mother Lydia Caroline Heimberger Reifsteck, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and her husband of 52 years, Robert D. Rawson.
She graduated from Champaign, Illinois High School, attended Burnham City Hospital Nursing at the University of Illinois, and was in the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corp. She quit when her husband came home from his service in the Air Force during WWII. They lived in Iowa until 1980, when they moved to Pendleton. She was the owner of Grandma's Antiques and Things for 36 years. She was an active member of the Pendleton United Methodist Church, whose members embraced and cared for her in every way. She also belonged to Gideons International Auxiliary and was a member of PEO, Chapter I in Clemson.
Surviving are her two sons, Jim (Margaret) of Greenville, SC, David (Judy) of Prior Lake, Minnesota four grand-daughters Summer, Katie (Brandon), Beth (Daron), and Kia (Gian), and numerous neices and nephews.
The Service of Remembrance and Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 13 at 2 p.m. at Pendleton United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Pendleton United Methodist Church Building Fund.
