Mary Lawson Rivers, 80, wife of Gilbert T. Rivers Jr., passed away Sunday, January 8th 2023. 

Born in Chester SC, she was a daughter of the late Guy Lawson Sr., and Lillian Donnan Lawson. 

Mary was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Tyler Shaw Sunday School Class. She was a loving person who always saw the best in people, and was extremely involved with her church. Her family was her joy. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Marc J. Rivers (Wan) of Auckland, New Zealand; Patrick Rivers (Julie) of Easley, SC; daughter Teale Denzer (Derek) of Woodstock, GA; brother Kenneth Donnan Lawson (Ella) of Easley, SC; sister Glenda L. Cannon of Lyman, SC; grandchildren, Luke Rivers, Porter Covil (Ethan), Alexander Rivers (Shadie), Jasmine Rivers, Nicolas Rivers, Lily Denzer, Emmy Denzer, Lawson Denzer, and Ezra Denzer.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Guy Lawson Jr. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 1:00PM until 2:15PM at Taylors First Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 2:30PM in the sanctuary of Taylors First Baptist Church, 200 W Main St, Taylors, SC 29687.
