Mrs. Mary Ruth Crane McAlister, 91, wife of the late Luther Aiken and the late Lucius Earl McAlister, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late J.D. Crane and the late Sophie Arnold Crane, Mrs. McAlister retired from Singer and was of the Baptist faith.

Ruth was a hard working wife and mother that loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Surviving are her six sons, Jerry Aiken, Larry Aiken, Roger Dale Aiken, Lucius McAlister, Jr., Steve McAlister, and Stacy McAlister; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. McAlister was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2023 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
