Mary Lois Laney Walter, 90, formerly of Central and widow of Harrison Walter, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare in Six Mile, SC.
Born in Monroe, NC, she was a daughter of the late Boyd Lex and Lula Bright Griffin Laney. Mrs. Walter was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed writing and painting.
She is survived by three sons, Harrison Walter III of Willits, CA, Samuel Lex Walter and wife, Kim of Lakeport, CA, and Mark Laney Walter and wife, Kathy of Liberty; grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Bryan Walter, Matthew Walter, Melanie Walter and Paige Krome; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband of 52 years, she was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Beaver and Betty King.
A private Memorial Service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC with Rev. Dr. Tina Woody officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to United Hospice, 102 East Curtis Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
