Mary White West, 94, formerly of Breazeale Road, wife of the late Thomas D. West, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Foothills Presbyterian Home, Easley.

Born in Greenville, Mrs. West was a daughter of the late Walter P. and Mabel W. White. She graduated from Winthrop College with a degree in elementary education. Mrs. West was a former first grade teacher at Ariail, Alice, and McKissick Elementary Schools. She was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included Bible study, reading, knitting, sewing, baking, and love of small children.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter D. West (Gina) of Mt. Pleasant and Charles T. West (Brenda) of Pendleton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anne Johnston (Clark) of Snellville, GA and Laura Wise (Bill) of Lynchburg, VA.; two sisters, Bobbie Houser of Greenville and Caroline Donnan of Whitmire; five grandchildren, Chip Johnston and his wife, Gwen, of St. Augustine, FL, Jessica Wise, of Lynchburg, VA, Kirt and Kerry Keeling, and Donnie McAnelly and wife Amanda of Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Tyler McAnelly and Cassidy Keeling.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:30 PM Friday, October 22, 2010, at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers,memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Home, 205 Bud Nalley Dr., Easley, SC 29642 or Interim Hospic 155 Deacon Tiller Court, Duncan SC 29334.
