Easley
Mary Ellen Williams, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Mary was the daughter of the late Robert Bige and Pearl Cummings Williams of Easley, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a beloved and active member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church of Easley, until recently, due to declining health.
Aunt Mary or Queen as she was so very affectionately known leaves behind to cherish her memory, one sister-in-law, Peggy Williams; five nieces, Eleanor Rogers and Marianne Claire of Charleston, Sue Champion of FL, Rebecca Smith of Simpsonville, Mary Anne Owen of Easley and Cynthia McQueen of Pickens; four nephews, Butch Williams of Anderson, Rick Williams of Easley, Robert Williams of VA. and Doyle Williams of Leesville; and a very special friend, Larry Owen of Easley, whom she referred to as "Precious" or her "Buddy".
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, R.B. Williams, Charles F. Williams, Doyle V. Williams, George F Williams, and M. Richard Williams; and five sisters Daisy W. Gaillard, Laura Grace Williams, Alice W. Carman, Norma W. Nowell, and Bobby Jean Williams.
Graveside services will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Westview Cemetery in Easley, with the Reverend Sean Miller officiating.
A visitation will be immediately following the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680, the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC, 29615, or to St. Matthias Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 815, Easley, SC 29641.
The family will be at their respective homes.
