Matt Hughes
- Powdersville, SC
Jonathan Matthew "Matt" Hughes, 25, of 1540 Circle Road, Easley, died Saturday, August 30, 2008, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, a son of Don and Carolyn Kelley Hughes of the home, Matt enjoyed working with his bonasi trees, yoga exercises and loved all types of music. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.
Because of his varied interests and abilities, he did not live life as a spectator. He was loved and will be missed by all and we will look forward to our reunion with him.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Adam Hughes of the home; grandmother, Bethel H. Kelley of Pickens; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Matt was predeceased by grandparents, Namon Kelley, and Furman and Rosa Lee Hughes.
Following a private committal service, a memorial service will be held at Bethesda United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Cy Rogers officiating.
The family will be available to speak with friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680 or to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 516 Piedmont Road, Easley, SC 29642 or to the charity of one's choice.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jeffery Giguere, nurse practitioner, Susan Funk, the staff of Cancer Centers of the Carolinas and to the fifth floor staff of St. Francis Hospital.
The family is at the residence.
