Matthew Glen Theiling, 22, of 308 Little Valley Drive, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Glen G. Theiling of Piedmont and Cheryl Thompson Hayes of Peachtree City, Georgia.

Mr. Theiling was a graduate of Wren High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was a junior at Clemson University in the Industrial Engineering Co-op Program, was the Athletic Editor of the TAPS Yearbook, and was a Palmetto Fellow Scholar. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and had traveled on many mission trips. He was also an avid whitewater kayaker.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Theiling is survived by his step-father, Ernest Gregory Hayes of Peachtree City, Georgia;a brother, Michael James Theiling of Peachtree City, Georgia; a step-brother, Gregory Scott Hayes of Gadsden, Alabama; a sister, Mary Catherine Theiling of Peachtree City, Georgia; his maternal grandparents, James Clifton and Audrey Kathryn Thompson of Piedmont; his paternal grandparents, George and Ruth Theiling of Walhalla and his girlfriend, Chrissy Dombrowski of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Siloam Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at the church, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will also be from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home- Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.

The family is at the home.
