Maureen Ivory

February 14, 1934 — November 15, 2025

Easley, SC

Maureen Ivory, 91, was born on Valentine’s Day in 1934 to Thomas and Estelle Ivory.

She began her life living in her grandparents’ 6 family apartment building on Eagle Street in Greenpoint Brooklyn, NY. Her family later moved to Queens, NY.

Upon completing her education, she began her illustrious career as the office manager for a major talent agency in Manhattan. It was a job where she developed friendships with multiple film and theater personalities and actors such as Burgess Meredith (Rocky), Marlene Dietrich, and the famous American playwright, screenwriter and novelist, Paddy Chayefsky.

Following this exciting position, Maureen moved on to become the Executive Assistant to the CEO of the Avon Corporation in mid-town Manhattan, where she remained until her retirement. Throughout her adulthood, Maureen was a seasoned world traveler with passports being stamped in Russia, Thailand, Japan and more.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Thomas, whom her Godson, Rick would be named after.

Just over six years ago, Maureen relocated from NY to SC to be closer to her loving and doting Godson, Rick Halpin and his wife, Lynn. She loved being close to family, along with the mild weather and regularly joked of not missing having to shovel snow.

All who came to know her quickly saw and felt her kindness.

A service to honor her memory will be held at Foothills Retirement Community at a later date.
