Maxcy Brooks Patterson, 92, widower of Kathleen Howell Patterson, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC.
Born in Lanford Station in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Charlton Boyd and Marguerite Fogle Patterson. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Infantry. He graduated from Clemson College in 1949. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed with Abney Mills, Louis P. Batson Company, and Abbott Laboratories. Before moving to Clemson in 1994, he had lived in Woodruff, SC for 40 years where he was very active in the Woodruff First Baptist Church. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clemson.
Surviving are daughters, Susan Putnam, Karen McAlister and Julie Bowie (Don); grandchildren, Brooks Brown (Deron), Amanda Stover, Kristopher Bowie (Rebecca), and Angela Thompson (Randy); and great grandchildren, Jacey, Abbey, Trey, Alayna, Cayson Grace and Cade.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Kathy James; and two great grandchildren, Christian and Riley; sister, Harriett Ramage and husband Walter; and brother, Charlton Boyd Patterson.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:30 Saturday, February 17 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
Private Family Entombment will take place at Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Clemson.
