Maxine Merck Rua, 64, of Seth St., wife of Hernando Jesus Rua, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at her home.

Born January 3, 1950 in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Denver Paul and Rebecca Beatrice Nation Merck. Mrs. Rua was a retired receptionist with Gates Arrow and attended Pelzer First Baptist Church. She loved to travel to Daytona Beach, the mountains and sailed on many cruises. Mrs. Rua loved her family and enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of nearly forty years, she is survived by her daughter, Cindy Askew (Ted); son, Timothy Rua (Carolann); sister, Jeraldine Turner (J.B.); grandchildren, Barbara, Chase, Travis, Bailey, Rebecca, Robert and Natalie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:45 PM Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
